    Just request the money back from the TDS, in full. If they want to apply for ┬ú200 of deduction then they’ll have to do so via TDS and prove the losses incurred. You can do it online but if you have issues just call them up

    Whether it’s custodial or insured is irrelevant to you. The TDS will pay you back. It’s just with insured, the landlord has to pay the TDS back and if they don’t the TDS claims on their insurance against the landlord
