The Co-Founder of the business, Ursula Hansen, shared that they have been truly touched by the overwhelming response from their customers who have reached out to help. One known customer even offered to fully pay for a new cord, although the offer was ultimately declined.

In addition, another known customer went out of their way by driving two hours to retrieve a cord from their old RV in an attempt to assist, but unfortunately, it wasn’t the right one. Nonetheless, Vinnie’s Pies has also received offers of help from several other customers and even from electricians.

Hansen explained that the business was fortunate because their oven operates on gas, allowing them to find a temporary solution to continue running over the weekend. However, had they not been able to address the issue in time, the business could have potentially suffered significant financial losses, especially if they had been booked for an event. This is due to the reliance of their equipment such as prepping machines, refrigerators, and blenders on the electrical cord to keep the food running.

At present, they are making do with a borrowed cord while continuing to explore their options. They intend to resume their regular business hours on Wednesday, until they are able to obtain a replacement cord.

Despite the recent setback, Vinnie’s Pies is also looking forward to an upcoming exciting development. Hansen revealed that the business is part of a partnership that will be opening a restaurant in Downtown Fort Smith early next month, in collaboration with Taliano’s Italian Restaurant and Bike Rack Brewing Company.

While facing adversity, Hansen emphasized that they prefer to focus on the positive aspects and the forthcoming chapter for the business. They are deeply grateful to the supportive community and stressed the significance of the community’s role in keeping them motivated. Hansen reflected on the humble beginnings of Vinnie’s Pies, starting with making pizzas in Vinnie’s backyard for friends and family, and expressed astonishment at the rapid growth of the business.
