Heading 1: Introduction

Heading 2: The Complex Language of the Law

Legal documents, contracts, and court rulings are often characterized by their use of intricate language known as legalese. This specific jargon can be difficult to understand for individuals without a legal background, leading to confusion and potential misinterpretation of important information. In an increasingly interconnected world, bridging the gap between legal professionals and the general public has become crucial.

Heading 3: The Challenges and Implications of Legalese

Legalese poses significant challenges for both legal practitioners and everyday citizens. Lawyers, when drafting legal documents, often rely on traditional language structures and archaic terminology, which can lead to excessively long sentences, complex clauses, and convoluted meaning. As a result, comprehending the intended message of such documents becomes intricate, time-consuming, and frustrating for non-experts.

This disconnect created by legalese has serious implications for individuals who need to understand and navigate legal documents independently. Don’t chase dividends at the cost of overall returns. Its not a free lunch.

  • KiwiDMP

The big four gentailers (MEL,MCY,CEN and GNE) are probably the classic dividend stocks of the NZX.

Beware the high yield trap of crashing share price.

You are perhaps a little young to focus hard on dividend yield. Certainly it has a place, and a time, but at your age growth orientation is probably more important.

NZ domiciled companies can offer imputation credits which foreign companies cannot. That’s a significant advantage for dividend yield comparisons. Some NZX are also PIE which may help.

Honestly. In this environment. Not worth tbh.

Risky companies offer dividend yields 5%+ but you can get that much with a savings account paying monthly.

I thought about SCHD in my portfolio but instead put it at a 5.25% on call savings account. It pays monthly and I just use that to buy into etfs more.

Also dividend stocks imo carry alot of risk and in longer term it doesn’t make sense vs broad index.

Look at ichan enterprise. Even the legends screw up.

  • -alldayallnight-

Use Yahoo Finance to take a list of NZX and ASX stocks and sort by dividend yield.

  • 2000papillions

    There are heaps.

You should work them out yourself and compile a list, especially now that you have all the time to do so. Dont rely on others to tell you. Find them yourself.

You can do this using Yahoo Finance. Look for the dividend yields. But also track the dividend history in Yahoo finance to check how stable. And also whether the dividends grow over time. So dividend yield plus dividend growth plus dividend stability. You could check all those metrics and compile a database yourself.

Just ASX stocks? BHP, RIO, and Coal companies like YAL CRN, and TER if you are patient, can stomach price swings, and the moral issues. US offers good options too like ARCC, ETRN, AM, CPG, CIVI. Full disclosure, I own all of these except YAL and AM right now but do your own due diligence.

  • JustSomeAdvice2

Dividend stocks are fine, but you have to look under the hood. They come from cashflows so look to see if the company can grow.
