Your NWM “Advisor” is a sales person. They’re pushing you towards funds that make them money. Those funds might be fine, but they’re going to bleed you dry through loads and AUM fees.
If you really believe you can’t manage your investments yourself then something like Vanguard’s PAS would be a good option. They’re basically going to do what people here will tell you to do, buy a blend of VTI, VXUS, and BND, but they’ll charge you 0.2% per year for the advice. That is likely to be WAY cheaper than what you’re getting from NWM.
Oh, and you should also get rid of whatever whole life insurance they sold you.
American Funds are owned by the Capital Group. American Funds and American Century are two different mutual fund companies.
American Funds are sold by insurance salespersons because they get a commission, 5.5%.
ON top of that, American Funds has high fees. I have a hard time believing the returns american funds claims. If they truly were returning 11% per year over the last 30 years, they would rank around first place, yet, they are rated very poorly.
