Its not really about the diagnosis itself, but the severity of those conditions. Some people with autism, PTSD, panic disorder, etc can work, while others with the same conditions cannot work.
No one can tell you the likelihood of being approved since SS has a variety of complex factors for approval. It will mostly depend on your medical records, treatment, past work history, education, & age.
To give 2 very different examples, I was approved with my initial application at the age of 23 years old. I had a recent inpatient hospital stay (51/50 hold) diagnosed with BPD, bi polar, PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, self harm, & OCD tendencies. Other than the inpatient stay, I had little to no medical records, but my work history showed I was unable to keep a job for longer than 2-3 months. Due to my lack of medical records, I was sent to a mental health evaluation by SS. The examiner agreed I was disabled & I was approved. – 4 months
My husband applied at 31 years old. He was an aerospace maintenance mechanic in the airforce for 6 years & had multiple jobs after service ranging in 6 monts to a year at each job. He was 60% with the VA at the time he applied for SSDI. His medical records were slim, but way more than I had. He was also sent for exams but they claimed he had no limitations or impairments. He was denied twice. After the 2nd denial he was reevaluated by the VA for an increase. He was granted 100% P&T (permanent & total disability) for panic disorder w/ agoraphobia, chronic PTSD, MDD, paranoia, & lumbar sprain. He had continued treatment during those denials, so his medical records & exams helped him get fully favorable by an ALJ (hearing) for SSDI. – Almost 2 years
You’re almost in the same boat as me. Initially I was declined due to just my autism and NVLD, but in my appeal I made absolutely sure to make it clear why working is (and always has been) impossible.

I received ssdi/ssi for my mental health but it wasnÔÇÖt easy. IÔÇÖd struggled since I was 17, when I was first put on meds. I went on and off them for years, had nervous breakdowns and such but didnÔÇÖt see a doctor regularly, I struggled in silence. Nine years ago I had multiple suicide attempts and was hospitalized inpatient. None of these things mattered I found out because they only go back two years on medical records. 3-4 years ago I had my worst breakdown to date. I struggled to work since I live alone, took vacation and sick time, fmla til I ran out and ended up losing that job. I started seeking outpatient treatment at a mental health facility, saw a psychologist, did therapy, saw a neuropsychiatrist to be accurately diagnosed of all my mental health diagnoses. I saw some kind of doctor 4 out of 5 days a week. The outpatient clinic I went to helped me file for disability. I was denied twice, no lawyer would take my case until I had those denials under my belt because they get paid by our backpay. Third time I had a lawyer, was given a court date and win my appeal about a month later. I wasnÔÇÖt able to work so had to borrow money from friends to stay afloat, for over two years. Luckily my backpay was enough to pay them back. It was the hardest thing IÔÇÖve ever done. Make sure you have medical records for all the treatments you received, a list of medications and why you take them. The more documentation you have the better your chances will be. TheyÔÇÖll request the records on your behalf for your appts, etc and will go back as far as two years for you. There have been some that are lucky enough to be approved on their first try as well, if your medical history is documented well you stand a good chance as well.
Are you under the care of a physician and going to counseling- following all instructions?
I had autism and all those things as well and they deny me and say I should be able to work because I can talk to them. I’ve never had a job and I’m the same age as you. I’ve never had a car. If I drive I would likely kill someone and cause an accident. I would come home from school and be met with a body slam and knocked out by people 4x my size. I probably have undiagnosed brain damage and cte. Sometimes it feels like I have dementia. Society keeps denying me social security and gas lighting me. My parents were hoarders who would beat me on a daily basis. I was in the house when a swat team rammed through the door. Doctors have said I have ptsd multiple personality disorder anxiety autism severe depression and they say because I’m not dying I am being denied. Someone I know has breast cancer and they have been denied saying because they are not dying soon they have been denied. She is devastated. Doctors are saying I have signs of liver failure or something on my recent blood test serious so maybe ill finally get it but that means the only way to get approved is near death and whats the point when it gets to that. Republicans are working overtime to take it away and they are trying to deny as many people as possible before ron DeSantis gets in office and takes away social security applications for younger generations. Thats why joe Biden who nobody likes should let someone else run hes easily beatable and that means social security is only left for the boomers. On top of all of that my feet have began to turn extremely red to the point where they look like stages of gang Green which is annoying because none of these doctors can tell me why my feet are turning to a moldy redish greenish dead looking feet. It looks like they are rotting all they do is give me this cream and its doing nothing. I don’t think my doctors knows what’s wrong with my feet. Even with all these things I get denied they make it a long process on purpose. The government is not run by good people. Blank check to Ukraine nothing for Americans.

Are you able to take care of yourself without assistance? Do you live with folks who help take care of you? Are you in a controlled setting and if you were to leave your condition would worsen?
How well do you communicate with others? Are you able to maintain superficial interactions (like with a cashier)?
Can you do things like shop for yourself and handle money on your own?
What kind of response to stress/change do you experience?
You donÔÇÖt have to answer these questions, but in my office these are the questions our docs asks when evaluating things like autism and anxiety.
