This upward trend demonstrates our commitment to guiding business owners in Bucks County and eastern Montgomery County at every junction of their entrepreneurial journeys.

Expanding Educational Initiatives

In our continuous effort to amplify our impact, SCORE Bucks County volunteers have been instrumental in launching the “One SCORE” Mid-Atlantic regional educational initiative. This initiative led to a remarkable 50% increase in workshop attendance for SCORE education services during fiscal year 2024. As co-chairs Leah Cianfrani and Charlie Morris passionately express, “Since 1987, SCORE Bucks County has been proud to offer mentoring and education services to our communities. Our dedicated team of 70 mentors leverages extensive business experience to empower the local small business sector. We eagerly anticipate continuing our community service as we commemorate 60 years of SCORE’s invaluable service.”

Since its inception in 1964, SCORE has aided over 17 million entrepreneurs, functioning as a vital resource partner in collaboration with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Today, SCORE boasts a robust national network of over 10,000 volunteers operating across all 50 states and territories, helping aspiring entrepreneurs navigate their path toward success.

Adapting to Change and Embracing Technology

The past 60 years have witnessed monumental changes in both the world and SCORE itself. What started as a consortium of retired executives has transformed to include a diverse array of mentors, with approximately half of SCORE’s volunteers still actively engaged in the workforce. Moreover, through technological advancements, SCORE has expanded its offering to include on-demand online learning modules, remote mentoring options, and targeted local workshops. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, SCORE quickly adapted, shifting to provide 100% virtual mentoring and educational resources without interruptions.

Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

SCORE has also made it a priority to foster diversity among both its clients and volunteers. Presently, 65% of SCORE clients are women, 46% identify as minorities, 13% have disabilities, and 9% are veterans. The success stories of SCORE clients at various stages of their entrepreneurial journeys offer compelling testimonials of the life-changing impact of mentoring and support.

Inspiring Entrepreneurship and Job Creation

Combining a spirit of entrepreneurship with a commitment to volunteerism, SCORE aims to assist small businesses at every stage, particularly those in their early phases. Last year, SCORE volunteers successfully aided in the establishment of 31,167 new businesses and contributed to the creation of 152,115 jobs nationwide, all while dedicating 4.5 million hours of service.
