Subject: Assistance with NRMA’s Trailer Disposal Issue and AI Legalese Decoder’s Solution

Dear [Recipient’s Name],

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek clarity regarding a recent incident involving a trailer and car collision. Furthermore, I would like to introduce a potential solution to streamline the resolution process using AI Legalese Decoder.

Incident Summary:

In August, while towing a trailer, my car and trailer were crashed into by another motorist. Now that the claim has finally been settled, the NRMA is requesting that I cover the disposal costs, including towing, for the damaged trailer. I am reaching out to ascertain if this is a justifiable demand. Please find below additional details regarding the situation:

1. Fault and Insurance Coverage: The other motorist was at fault for the accident and holds comprehensive car insurance through NRMA. Unfortunately, their vehicle was declared a total loss.
2. Vehicle Damage: My car sustained minor damages but was still drivable. It is also insured with NRMA, and arrangements were made promptly to have the damages repaired.
3. Trailer Condition: The trailer incurred substantial damage and had to be transported to a holding yard. Regrettably, the trailer was not insured due to its age.
4. Prolonged Claims Procedure: It has been nearly two months since we initiated the claim process for the trailer. Throughout this period, we have engaged with approximately ten different representatives from NRMA. According to NRMA’s valuation, the trailer is priced at $750. However, they are currently reluctant to cover the costs of towing and disposal, which may amount to approximately $600 due to the trailer being full at the time of the accident.
5. Ownership Transfer: Based on existing examples and policy documents, it is my understanding that once a claim has been paid, the NRMA assumes ownership of the deemed total loss, regardless of whether it concerns a trailer or a car. However, in this specific situation, the examples and documents do not align precisely.

AI Legalese Decoder’s Role:

At this juncture, I propose considering the implementation of AI Legalese Decoder to expedite the resolution process. This innovative tool can assist in comprehending the intricacies of legal language, policies, and coverage conditions. By utilizing AI Legalese Decoder, we can accurately navigate the specifics of NRMA’s policy documents and ensure that their actions align with their stated guidelines.

Additional Pertinent Information:

Aside from the trailer disposal issue, I must highlight the numerous challenges I have faced while dealing with NRMA:

1. Excessive Holding Fees: Due to the prolonged settlement period, the holding fees for the trailer have accumulated to over $2000. After persistence, NRMA has reluctantly agreed to cover this expense. It is important to note that I have been proactive in contacting them regularly to inquire about the progress of the claim. Unfortunately, each time I call, I provide my details, but they fail to follow up as promised.
2. Customer Loyalty Disregarded: My family and I have been loyal customers of NRMA for over 20 years, holding five different car policies as well as our home and contents insurance with them. Regrettably, this incident has shown that customer loyalty holds no significance to NRMA. Consequently, we are considering switching our insurance providers in the aftermath of this unfortunate situation.

In conclusion, I kindly request your assistance in clarifying whether NRMA’s demand for me to shoulder the trailer disposal costs is indeed justifiable, or if it constitutes an attempt to take advantage of the situation. Moreover, I strongly advise incorporating AI Legalese Decoder to streamline the resolution process and ensure adherence to NRMA’s policies and procedures.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to your prompt response.

Yours sincerely,
[Your Name]

If the other party was comp insured with NRMA and they caused damage to your trailer and were at fault, I would have thought the NRMA is liable to pay all the costs relating to the damage including towing, same as a vehicle.

    Lodge complaint with AFCA, [www.afca.org.au](https://www.afca.org.au).

It costs them a bundle to deal with complaints that they won’t resolve to the complainants satisfaction. It will cost them over $8000 if it goes to decision stage. (inc GST)

Don’t bother ringing them anymore , just lodge a complaint online.

Person who crashed into you holds the legal liability to make you whole.

This includes paying the value of the trailer plus towing and storage and disposal.

Insurance is nothing more than a contract with that person to cover that liability.

Insurance now owns the trailer, and disposing of it is their problem.

Tell them to handle it or you’ll go to the ombudsman.

    > My trailer was a total loss and had to be towed to a holding yard. The trailer is old and was not insured.

If it’s uninsured, who considered it a Total Loss? Total Loss is the term applied to an insured item.
