I personally would use the money buying things that will increase your life quality right away. For example, do you have enough savings to not be working for 6 months? Then save and create yourself an emergency fund. Do you work at home? Buying a well-fitting work desk and chair will do wonders for your back. Finally, maybe there are some certifications you could get that could help your career, then it would be great to get those etc. etc.

I’d put it in a low fee index fund (globally diversified, probably stock only), as much as you can via NISA and the rest in a regular taxable account. Of course that comes with the risk it might go down, but you’re presumably young and should be aiming for high returns (personally I might even go for something more aggressive, like a 2x levered version of the same thing, or an emerging market focused fund – but that’s getting a bit advanced for a beginner). If you’re feeling more cautious you could go for a bond focused fund instead (look for terms like “fixed income”) – safer but lower returns – or if you want safer still then something like a money market fund. If you want it to absolutely not go down then your only option is a “time deposit” but the interest on those is miniscule.
